IFTA Account Set Up
Description
IFTA is an agreement among U.S. states and provinces in Canada that simplifies the reporting of fuel use taxes by interstate motor carriers who operate in two or more member states or provinces.
PROCESS
Same day issued by CDTFA
Who needs it?
if your trucks have a gross vehicle weight of over 26,000 pounds or have three or more axles, and cross into two jurisdictions, you have a “qualified motor vehicle” and are required to file an IFTA report (no matter what your fuel type!). Local trucks operating exclusively within a single jurisdiction typically do not need to file IFTA
